چکیده

Ziziphus spina-christi L. extract from the northern region of Saudi Arabia, was investigated to determine its chemical composition and evaluate antioxidant antifungal properties. Fresh leaves were extracted using Soxhlet apparatus yield 8% w/w. Results qualitative study showed that this is rich in compounds belonging several classes (saponins, phenols, tannins). GC-MS analysis detected 38 with different concentrations representing 99.71 % total extract. However, Z. mainly composed Octadecanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethylester (18.80%). The has free radical scavenging activity at best result obtained IC50 148.33 µg/ml. C. albicans other Candida species caused vulvovaginal candidiasis, which a high-risk occurrence hospitalized patients. In vitro by agar well diffusion test measure compare diameter zones inhibition (in mm) against albicans, glabrata tropicalis. Ethanolic demonstrated substantial inhibitory impact on species, especially highest effect (90%). Therefore, source natural antioxidants it can be used as pharmaceutical product.
